 Conference Nαvigator 2003

The Conference NAVIGATOR 2003 organized by  KEFI TOURS on the 4^th of March 2003 in LEDRA MARRIOTT HOTEL , in co-operation with The Ministry of Merchantile Marine, the University of Piraeus- Maritime Studies Department  and the Embassies of  Argentina, Brazil, India, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Philippines, was completed with great success .

The participants at the Conference (click here to see the LIST OF PARTICIPANTS) were intrigued by the subject of the Conference: “DOMINATOR IN THE REPRESENTATION WORLD”.

The aim of the  Conference  was to offer  the opportunity to the participants,  to present and discuss  their views and ideas on  important subjects, in regards to Shipmanagement Companies as well as to the Agents and the Towing Companies of the countries who participate in the Conference.  Additionally, the Conference attempted to resolve the basic matters which cause problems to the management ant towing of vessels.

During the opening greetings, the Chief Commandant of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Christos Delimichalis  saluted the Conference on  behalf of the Minister of Merchantile Marine Mr Giorgos Anomeritis, who could not attend  and underlined in his speech that the annual  Conference NAVIGATOR is becoming an institution. He also complimented the contribution of the Hellenic Coast Guard to the protection of the seas and the services they provide to the ships.

 The ambassadors of Argentina, Philippines and South Africa also greeted the Conference.

 

   

Mr Paul Alberto , the Ambassador of Argentina in Greece ,  and Messers Diego Palmieri (Director) and Jorge Braun (Operations Director) of AGENCIA MARITIMA NABSA.

 

 The audience was carried away by the  Executive Director of THENAMARIS INC. Mr Emmanuel Vordonis   who with his presentation titled “ A LANGUAGE FOR THE ROOT”  proved in a magical way that for every problem there is always a solution as long as we find the way to get to the root of the problem so with the right  communication  tactics  to find its solution.

The Operations Manager of EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN Mr Gabriel Haldezos during his impressive speech referred to the problems which arise in the co-operation between   Shipping Companies and Agents and suggested some significant solutions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dimitris Bezantakos President of NAVIGATOR S.A. in his opening greeting underlined the importance of this meeting which contributes to improvement of the personal relations which are irreplaceable, despite the advancements in technology.

A small musical break was presented to the participants just before lunch during which 4 members of the Athens Opera House escorted by a piano sang extracts from classical musical themes. The show was performed by the famous director Mr Kostas Papaioannou.

All the participants were very enthusiastic with the outcome of the Conference and expressed the wish to meet again next year at another successful Conference   next year  at an also successful Conference, as such a meeting stands  truly as a beacon in the world of the sea.
